DR. TONY PROTHRO

Executive Director, Arkansas School Boards Association

Tony Prothro

Dr. Tony Prothro assumed the role of Executive Director of the Arkansas School Boards Association (ASBA) in July of 2013.  Dr. Prothro previously served as superintendent in the Benton, Arkadelphia and Mount Vernon-Enola school districts in Arkansas. Dr. Prothro has taught advanced school finance at the university level and also taught English and French at the high school level. He also has been employed as a professional consultant for school districts and school boards. He earned a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.  He and his wife, Regina, have two grown sons, Kody and Kaleb, and two grandchildren, Eli and Kendyll.  Dr. Prothro’s passion for students and their education has become a lifelong mission laced with enriched experiences.  ASBA is a not-for-profit organization that has provided programs and services for all of the state’s locally elected school boards for more than 50 years.
