Earl Rickman

Mr. Earl C. Rickman is a proud alumnus of the Mt. Clemens Community Schools as well as an Alumnus of Florida A& M University. Upon graduating FAMU Earl worked on Capitol Hill for Representative Claude Pepper of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

In 1985 Earl was the youngest person ever to serve on the Mt. Clemens Board of education, he is currently entering his 34th year of voluntary service has an elected Board of Education member. Earl has served as the board President for 23 of the 34 years while serving on the board. Earl’s goal has been to provide an environment for academic excellence for all students.

Earl’s commitment to public education is evident by his involvement on boards and committees of several National Educational Organizations.

Earl served as the President of the National School Boards Association (NSBA) 2010-2011. An organization of 95, 000 school board members representing over 50 million public school students.

Recording Secretary for the National Alliance of Black School Educator’s, (NABSE) Board of Director’s for the National School Boards Association, (NSBA) Board of Director’s Michigan Association of School Boards, (MASB) and Past President of The National Caucus of Black School Board members to mention a few.

Earl is a well-traveled presenter and lecturer on issues and topics that impact the governance of public education. Earl is also very active in lobbying on behalf of public educational issues in the Nation’s capital as well as in his home state of Michigan.   

In his spare time, Earl is a national and international motivational speaker, works with youth mentoring programs, youth employment outreach programs, and youth athletic programs. Earl is also involved as the High School Varsity track coach. Earl can be heard as the Voice of Battling Bathers athletics, the Voice of the Rivals Professional Football League, and many other events as a Public Announcer.
